LE RIPE TERROIR
Located about 3 km from Fonterutoli as the crow flies, in the township of Radda in Chianti, this part of the property is dominated by the ancient Badia, erected in the tenth century, from which it takes its name.
The land, at an average altitude of 500 meters, has a medium limestone texturewith a rich texture. The vineyards, planted with Sangiovese and Merlot and covering a total of 19 hectares, all with southern exposure, are all planted at high density and cultivated Guyot style for the Sangiovese and spur cordon-training for the Merlot.
Temperatures are relatively cool in the area, both because of the altitude and the local microclimate, which yields grapes with unusual aromatic characteristics.
