The vineyards

The entire surface, at an average altitude of 130 meters above sea level, with western/southwestern exposure and slopes of between 8% and 10%, is characterized by medium texture soils, strongly calcareous and with a rich backbone.

The current 21 hectares of vineyards are planted at a density of 5,500 plants per hectare, are cultivated “ad alberello” (free standing vine), mostly with Nero d’Avola grapes and in small part, with Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. The sea breeze, which blow in from the nearby coast, lower the summer temperatures and warm the land in the winter, resulting in an exceptional microclimate.

This climate, along with the special characteristics of the soil, permits the perfect ripening of the grapes and yields elegant wines that stand out for their character and aroma.
