Enoica Road Sicily

'Enoica derives from my activity as a wine maker and my passion for cycling. I like to discover beautiful hidden places; perhaps, if I had lived in another era, I would have been an explorer.' (Francesco Mazzei)

In 2018 the Enoica Road has moved to Sicily, at the discovery of one of the most beautiful and appealing regions in Italy. History, culture, landscape and food and wine traditions accompanied an intriguing cycling experience along a route appreciated by all the participants: the baroque buildings in Noto, Ragusa Ibla, Piazza Armerina and Caltagirone, the mountains of the Madonie and the Nebrodi, the Tyrrhenian coast where the Aeolian islands enrich the lunar landscape of Mount Etna. 5 stopovers along an itinerary of 500 km will offer a genuine food and wine experience: from Nero d'Avola to Nerello Mascalese, the chocolate of Modica, the pistachios from Bronte, the Nebrodi black pig and the red oranges. In line with its true nature, the Sicilian Enoica is not a race, but rather an enchanting cycling itinerary both from the sports and from the cultural point of view, however this is a challenging adventure that requires a good athletic training.
