Francesco Mazzei new president of Consorzio Tutela Vini Maremma Toscana
Francesco Mazzei is the new president of Consorzio Tutela Vini della Maremma Toscana, a consortium created in 2014 following the award of the DOC appellation in order to promote the quality of its wines and ensure compliance with the rules laid down in the Regulation.
Maremma Toscana is a land committed to vine cultivation and winemaking since the time of the Etruscans with a very rich history, culture and unspoiled landscapes attracting many tourists from all over the world every year.
DOC Maremma Toscana is growing rapidly with 5.700.000 bottles produced in 2017 and it's the fourth Tuscan appellation for its planted area, right after Chianti, Chianti Classico and Brunello di Montalcino.
"I consider myself an adopted Maremman and I am glad to help supporting this land, which is unrivaled in terms of quality and variety" says the newly elected president. "I reckon Maremma has a great potential in viticulture and we will make every effort to make our wines popular in the country and internationally, focusing on cultural heritage, environment, hospitality and many other incredible features characterizing this land".
