Zisola enjoyed ideal weather throughout the year. Early winter was characterized by a cold and damp January. Low temperatures and abundant rainfall, well above the seasonal average, continued until mid-March. More favorable weather arrived at the end of the month, a prelude to a warm, dry April. Another period of sustained rainfall during the last ten days of the month was most useful to the development of the grapes. Summer was marked by relatively mild temperatures compared to the seasonal average in Sicily. Scarce rainfall during the summer months helped maintain an excellent environment for the healthy ripening of the grapes. Harvesting began in early September and concluded at the end of the month. The wine of the vintage are particularly concentrated, intensely fruity and brilliant in color.
